  • Do I need to pre-pay for my room on booking?

    We require credit card details when you book our fully-flex rate but only to secure your booking. We do not ask for full payment up front. Payment for your stay and any extras you have taken whilst you are with us will be required when you check out and not before. 

  • Can I cancel my booking if things change?

    Yes - whilst we really hope that you won't need to cancel your booking, on our fully-flexible rate, as long as you cancel your booking before 10:00am on the day before you’re due to arrive, there will be no charge. If you do need to cancel simply give us a call on 01285 658507.

    Bookings cancelled after 10:00am on the day before you’re due to arrive will be charged for the first night’s stay. No Shows will be charged for the first night’s stay.

  • Is there a room upgrade option?

    We do offer upgrades on rooms from £25.00, an additional charge, per night. This service is subject to availability and we ask that you call the team to discuss your options.

    In all rooms we have the service of adding little treats before you check in from; flowers, a bottle of prosecco or a bottle of Champagne. For further details enquire with the team.

  • Do you hold rooms provisionally?

    We don't hold our rooms provisionally during booking, as we take a credit card to guarantee reservations and our cancellation policy then applies.

  • What are your check in and check out times?

    Check in time for guests is from 3 pm.

    Check out time for guests is before 11 am.

  • Do you offer late check out?

    Yes, we do offer this service which is available at £20.00, subject to availability, until a maximum of 1 pm.

  • Do you have a room with a bath?

    Yes a collection of our guest rooms have baths in them;

    • Three Standard Double Rooms
    • Standard Twin Rooms
    • Feature Rooms - which have free standing roll top baths.


    So please specify at the time of booking if this is important to you.

  • Do you have travel cots/Z-beds available? Do you charge for it?

    Yes, we have a limited supply and they carry an additional charge. Cots are free.

  • Is Wi-Fi available?

    Wi-Fi is free and now available in all rooms and public areas.

  • Is car parking available?

    There is a large car park just 4 minutes’ walk away – The Waterloo car park (sat nav GL7 2PZ).

    If you have luggage, by all means pull up at the front of The Fleece and unload before you head round to Waterloo Road. The car park is free from 6 pm to 8 am each morning (Mon to Sat and free on a Sunday).

  • Can you provide directions to the inn?

    Approaching M4 (Jn 15) – Swindon or M5 (Jn 11A) – Gloucester – Turn off the A417 at the Burford Road junction signposted Cirencester Town Centre. (If approaching from Swindon, the A419 becomes the A417 just before you get to Cirencester. Do not take the A419 turnoff signpost for Cirencester Industrial Area).

    From Burford Road Junction, follow the Town Centre signs until you reach the traffic lights at the end of London Road. Turn right at the traffic lights into the road named The Waterloo, where you will find the Waterloo Car Park. Approaching from M4 (Jn 17) – Malmesbury, M4 (Jn 18) – Tetbury or M5 (Jn 13) – Stroud.

    Approaching Cirencester on the A433, at the first roundabout – opposite Waitrose – take the 2nd exit for Swindon. At the second roundabout continue following the sign for Swindon. At the third roundabout turn left following the sign for Town Centre. At the fourth roundabout turn left following the sign for Town Centre – this is London Road.

    Turn right at the traffic lights into the road named The Waterloo, where you will find the Waterloo Car Park.

  • Are pets allowed?

    Yes, we have a small selection of paw-friendly rooms, which we do charge £15 per stay for your dog to join you in your room (this charge will be added to your bill on check-in). This price is subject to room availability, however we do offer an increased price of £25 per stay for other rooms. The additional charge is so we can give the room some extra special attention afterwards, to ensure it is pristine for the next arrivals.

  • Are dogs allowed in the bar?

    We love to welcome well-behaved owners and their dogs to the inn, but please be aware that not everyone loves your dog as much as you do. To help us keep happy customers of both the two and four-legged varieties please observe our simple requests:

    - Dogs are allowed in the bar area, but not in the dining only areas
    - Please don’t let your dog jump or pester other guests, or their pets or disturb others by barking
    - Make sure your dog is clean and dry before they come in to the inn
    - All dogs must be kept on their lead when moving around and sat down in the inn

  • Is there disabled access?

    Unfortunately due to the historic nature of The Fleece building we are unable to offer bedrooms located on the ground floor.

  • Do you have cycle storage?

    We do have the capability to store our guest's bicycles, but we ask that you call in advance to discuss with the team so we can prepare in time for your stay.

    Bicycles can be locked in the courtyard which is monitored by CCTV.

  • Do you serve breakfast?

    Breakfast is included in resident's stays and served from 7.00am to 9.30am Monday-Friday and 8.00am to 10.00am Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holidays.

    For non resident's breakfast will be £14.50 per person.

  • What are the food & drink serving times?

    Food is served Monday - Sunday: 12.00 pm - 9.00 pm.

    The bar is open from Monday - Saturday: 11.00 am - 10.00 pm and on Sunday: 11.00 am - 9.00 pm.

  • Is private dining available?

    Yes we have private spaces, The Lion Suite & The Charles Suite, which are perfect for any group dining occasion. Both rooms offer multimedia screens, a coffee machine, and an accessible toilet.

    The rooms are located conveniently on the ground floor.

  • Are you able to host special occasions, events and gatherings?

    Yes, we're more than happy to help you host a special occasion or gathering and with different room hire options available we're positive we have something for everyone.

  • Where are the nearest wedding venues?

    We're surrounded by a great selection of gorgeous wedding venues;

  • What are the local villages?

    We're the perfect base to explore and discover the very best of the Cotswolds' charm with many neighbouring sleepy villages and hamlets; such as Bibury, Burford, Burton-on-the-Water and Stow-in-the-Wold to name a few. Ask any of our team for some great local recommendations.

  • What are the nearest shopping centres?

    Swindon Outlet Village is 16 miles away and perfect for a shopping day-trip out.

  • What is your cancellation policy?
